Off-Site Press Release

UAE firm builds MEP sub-assemblies for KSA project - 2011

Off-Site Engineering Solutions FZE has agreed to supply the $533m King Abdullah Research Centre and Sports City Project with modular MEP sub- assemblies, it was announced on Thursday.

Having signed a letter of intent with Drake and Scull International (Saudi Arabia), the UAE based MEP company will deliver building services in modular, factory produced units that aim to improve on current cost levels and time savings. It also intends to generate less waste and improve on-site safety.

The off-site manufactured MEP sub-assemblies will be manufactured in a controlled factory environment close to the point of use on the KAPSARC site in Riyadh.

These pre-engineered, quality controlled segments will cluster the building services in 4m - 6m runs that will help reduce costs significantly, Patrick O’Callaghan, CEO of Off-Site Engineering Solutions said during the announcement.

The completed modules will then be delivered into the building, fixed in place and commissioned to complete the building services more efficiently, all in less time than a traditional system and with less labour on site.
